Tail calorie-free wiring diagram
Hello all, new here. I have a 2013 A4 S-line that I am trying to wire to tow a small trailer. I am wondering if someone has the rear tail lights wiring diagram, Ive done a lot of internet research and it seems colour codes are all over the place. This is a Canadian model if that matters. I am using a module that draws power from the battery and converts iv wires to three. I ran into issues on the left side as a ane wire (grey/white) seems to carry both the left turn signal and brake. If it helps the 5 wires for the left are grayness/white, gray/blackness, green, black and finally brown. Whatsoever help would be appreciated.

Tail lamps are different for:
- sedan vs wagon
- incandescent vs LED
- B8.0 vs B8.5 - you mention B8.5
- Us vs Euro - Canadian, so likely US spec with the side marking lamp?
- inner vs outer lamp assembly - I'g bold the outer given the context?
And so information technology would exist easier if the module in question was more thoroughly identified.
The wiring diagram document, forth with all the repair manuals, are on erwin.audiusa.com (or erwin.audi.com, not certain which Audi of Canada would say to utilise).
Allow'due south assume sedan, LED, B8.5, Us spec, outer left associates. Because your wiring colors match that. And sure, the gray/white lights up the M56 light "bulb".
chocolate-brown - ground
green - M37 side mark
gray/white - M56 restriction/plow
gray/black - M4 tail
black - M16 opposite

The trailer modules convert 4 wires to iii and usually require a restriction, tail, left and right turn input. The three outputs are tail, and they combine restriction and plough both sides. I believe the fashion to wire this is to merely leave the restriction input asunder, the Audi combined restriction and turn should do the chore. I volition try it and report back.

Right side is same pin numbers, but yes, different wire colors:
chocolate-brown - basis
black/yellow - M38 side marker
grey/blueish - M57 brake/turn
grey - M2 tail
blackness/white - M17 reverse
The machine already produces brake+left turn, restriction+right turn, and tail outputs. You virtually don't demand a "converter". Though I don't know if the trailer calorie-free tech is the same, and you'd probably desire a solution to provide 12v so your not extra loading the J393 output.

Going to the production folio for that harness, it has a restriction input also, only he simply didn't hook it up. So if yours is similar in operation, so not hooking up the brake input should be fine.
